Jinwoo’s Star from Solo Leveling Season 2 Unveils Elden Ring Easter Egg

The anime series Solo Leveling has continued to captivate audiences worldwide, wrapping up its much-anticipated Season 2 in March 2025. This season not only smashed several streaming records but also cemented its position as one of the most prominent shows in the anime sphere. Fans have eagerly followed the protagonist Jinwoo’s journey as he evolves from a mere hunter into a powerful Necromancer, a path that leads him to attain the mysterious title of Shadow Monarch.

In contrast to Season 1, the second season took the narrative much further. We were taken from the gripping Red Gate Arc to the highly anticipated Jeju Island Arc, marking a significant progression in both the storyline and character development. A remarkable moment from this season is when Jinwoo ascends to the prestigious status of Korea’s tenth S-Rank Hunter. It’s a title that isn’t easily bestowed and reflects his tremendous growth and ability.

To add to the excitement, the narrative took an emotional turn when Jinwoo embarked on a mission to save his mother from Eternal Slumber. He successfully acquired the Elixir of Life after many arduous attempts at clearing the daunting Demon Castle, a task that isn’t for the faint-hearted.

As the dust settles on Season 2, the buzz among fans regarding the third season is palpable. Although official confirmation hasn’t been made, hopes are high for an update from the studio. Notably, in a recent TikTok video, Jinwoo’s English dub voice actor, Aleks Le, hinted that fans might have to exercise patience as Solo Leveling Season 3 won’t grace the screens for some time. This comes as a surprise since the first two seasons were released consecutively each year. Yet, the wait may very well unfold new truths about the intriguing world of Solo Leveling, as Aleks Le mentioned. An interesting tidbit shared was the intentional nod to Elden Ring, a popular action RPG, in the Season 2 finale.

Solo Leveling Season 2 Finale Dub Has an Elden Ring Reference

The finale of Season 2 brought about a scene where Jinwoo is granted special permission to clear a gate that had manifested right in the middle of a street. This gate-clearing mission generally requires a group of at least ten Hunters, adhering to stringent safety and practical precautions necessitated by the dangerous nature of such phenomena. However, Jinwoo, bolstered by his unmatched prowess and his cadre of shadow soldiers, is an exception to this rule. The Hunters Association Chairman, Gunghee Go, recognized Jinwoo’s extraordinary capabilities and granted him this rare privilege.

As this scene unfolds, an Association assistant makes an attempt to halt Jinwoo, perhaps out of concern or protocol adherence, to which Jinwoo responds with the phrase, “Let me solo it.” This line, as later explained by Aleks Le, is a playful homage to a famous phrase from the gaming universe, specifically the phrase “Let me Solo her” from Elden Ring. The reference is exclusive to the English dub, with Aleks Le being the creative mind behind this enjoyable nod to the game.

The story behind this phrase from Elden Ring originated with a player known as “Let me Solo her,” who gained recognition for assisting other players in defeating one of the most challenging bosses, Malenia, Blade of Miquella. This player’s in-game avatar, adorned only with a pot on his head and a loincloth while wielding dual katanas, became something of an online legend, efficiently taking down the formidable Malenia solo. This clever inclusion certainly adds an amusing layer of connection for fans of both Solo Leveling and the award-winning game, Elden Ring.

Aside from this reference, Aleks Le shared that the English dub of Solo Leveling distinguishes itself further with several personal touches that were not present in the original subbed version, adding a unique flavor to the English adaptation. In the same TikTok video, Le thanked the fans for their support and offered assurances that he would keep them updated on any new developments regarding Season 3. Undeterred by the delay, the community remains hopeful and excited about what the next installment may bring.

Le concluded the interaction with a heartfelt expression of gratitude towards the fandom. His parting words emphasized that while the upcoming season isn’t arriving imminently, there’s certainly much to look forward to in terms of narrative development and character arcs. The video wrapped up with the iconic final song of Season 2—the same evocative tune that accompanied the conclusion of numerous cliffhangers throughout the season, leaving fans with a sense of nostalgia and anticipation for the journey ahead. As the buzz continues, fans eagerly await more updates, knowing that patience will soon pay off.
